Nice and easy
Nice little hike, it's good to be out, weather was fantastic, together with Mount Buckhorn.

Quiet and secluded
Beautiful trail. Behind on the high drive for the first 1.2 mi. Take the right most unmarked trail beyond the fencing. Totally solo once I entered the summit trail. Shrouded in beautiful greenery. Amazing views at the top

Walked up High Drive then went for the summit. Great views at the peak.

After Work
Nice that the days are long once again, allowing me to do after work excursions such as this. I went up the east side and then down a gully-like indentation on the south side. Very little snow was left.

My kids made it to the top again. Still haven't seen a trail. Always right up the side. Hate to do it, "Leave No Trace" and all, but...

Nice day...
It was 35 and felt like 55. I actually summited with a guy that was wearing Cartman (South Park) pajama bottoms and an Elmo T-shirt. Locals are different in the Springs...

Morning in the clouds
Great hike on a cold but dry February day. I spent the morning in and out and above the clouds. Tagged the top of Buckhorn first then came over to Mays.

Via Mays Peak Trail
We picked up the Mays Peak trail from High Drive. This trail wraps gently around the mountain first heading east, then south, then approaching the summit from the north. Great outing with the dogs. Hiking partner: Husband. Dogs: Lady, Bing & Lela.
A quick run with the dogs from the Gold Camp Road TH. Returned by taking the Mt. Buckhorn trail from the saddle up over the south ridge of Budkhorn, and down the gully to the parking lot.

The "back" way
I ran with my brother's two dogs, Buddy and Molly, along the ridge above Gold Camp Road, then took a trail cut-off to the west, which leads to the north slopes of Mays. From there we bushwhacked south and west to the summit.
Topped out with my son Ian on my back (in the kid carrier) and my wife Julie. We did this as a side trip while doing the Buckhorn loop. We had lunch among the boulders on Buckhorn but there was no way I was summiting the "big" boulder without a rope and some friends. We hiked the trail that heads around Mays south slopes and rings around for a final approach from the north.

From Trail 665
We took the marked trail 665 on headed up the North side, using some tracks in the snow. On the descent we headed down the West side as referenced on the route page. Peaceful on top with great views.
