Hiked the Wellsville Ridge with my wife and sister. We started on the southern edge at Rattlesnake Gulch, and it was super overgrown and mega steep on the way up. The trail from Box Elder Peak all the way to Mendon is descent, but there are no trails to the unnamed peak, Pleasant View, or Scout Peak. Mendon Peak is a nightmare to ascend or descend on the western side, so I'd highly recommend tacking on some extra mileage and approaching and descending from the south. Super steep and overgrown descent down into Deep Canyon where we dropped the 2nd car. All-in-all—beautiful hike, but due to the neglect of the trail, I doubt I'll ever do it again.

Rough day
Hiked this with a couple of coworkers. We started up from the Deep Canyon Trailhead, got the peak, and then headed south past Wellsville Cone and Box Elder Peak, and then down Rattlesnake Canyon. I was out of shape, tired, and whiny, but I'll never forget the hike!
Love deep canyon, nice afternoon with a great view.

Hot Hike
Got an early start...definitely a must in summer due to heat issues. 2 1/2 hours to the top via Deep Canyon. Pleasant and breezy on the ridgeline, hot and humid in Deep Canyon.
Early Eighties and mis 90's. Did it about 96? on a foggy October day Starting at the Rattlesnake trailhead, doing the Box Elder to Mendon Ridge run, down North Canyon with a WMC group.

Deep Canyon
March 4 2017. Skinned to just below the summit and then skied down the chute on the East face. I was with John A and Jake L.
March 8 2014 We hiked/skinned up the ridge just to the south of Deep Canyon. We then skied back down. It was a great day. It was much more difficult to summit in the winter. John A. and Randy B. were my companions.
July 27 2010 I loved the Deep Canyon Trail, despite the fact that it was covered with growth in the lower sections. I'd wear pants next time. Excellent views from the top. Hiked over to "Hawkwatch" peak as well.

Great Day
It was a great day to hike the Wellsvilles. I'm beat though.
Summer mid-1990's - The first time I hiked to Mendon Peak was with my dad about a year after my family moved to Utah. I remember it being a hot and humid day. The trail in Deep Canyon was overgrown and covered with stinging nettle. The mosquitos were terrible. Great memories.

Fun Hike
Tons of wildflowers. What a fun ridge! Walked nearly to Scout Peak without hardly breaking a sweat along the ridge. The tough part is just getting up there. I had to hike up a few snow fields, but it wasn't too bad. The fun part was sledding down them on the descent.
