From Honeymoon lake
Climbed Royce and Merriam from basecamp at Honeymoon lake - which has some great campsites along the SE shore. The summit has two highpoints - the topo map marks the south point as the peak, which was easy class 3, but the register turned out to be on the north point, which was also an easier climb. The register filled out in 2016 so people are just signing scraps of paper

From the saddle
Enjoyable scramble. Stay close to the ridge for bigger moves on more secure rock (vs. less steep, but looser scree further right). Next person up might want to bring another small notebook, as it is full.

NE Ridge/Face
Climbed as much of the NE Ridge as I could, dropping down onto the NE face in a couple spots to avoid class 5. Really enjoyable scrambling. Continued down to the saddle and on to Royce, then Feather.
Edit: Surprised to see the comment of no register in June, I found the typical cylinder right at the top with a notebook dating to 2005.

From Pine Creek TH
Day hike combined with Royce Peak. No summit register. Windy day.
Dayhike from Pine Creek Pass TH to Merriam and Royce. It snowed on me for most of the day, but luckily there wasn't too much wind so it wasn't very cold.

Class 2 slopes from the saddle
This is a great looking peak and the climb to the saddle over consolidated snow was fun. I did Merriam first, Royce second. Merriam is the better climb. Trip report

Northwest Ridge
From Honeymoon Lake via Pine Creek pass with MD who stayed at Royce Lakes for a few hours while I went up Merriam and then Royce. Was concerned I would need an ice ax on the permanent snow field below the saddle but I was able to stay on dry land the whole way up. Merriam is a very nice looking peak from the East.

Royce-Merriam SaddleA long dayhike. Rather windy. Air-quality was less than great, due to the Mariposa Fire, I assume. But still great.

East chuteSticky class 2 slabs made this a fast climb, and the final class 3 bit dropped me right at the register. How cool is that?
