One of the best day hikes in southern Scotland
Fantastic day hike in Galloway Forest Park. The trail from Glen Trool (starting near Bruce's Stone) is well-marked and easy to follow. Moderate difficulty.
The views from the top are brilliant. On a clear day, you can see all the way across to Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man.
There's a bothy about an hour's hike up from the start of the trail. Plenty of opportunities to fill up your water bottle from streams in the first half of the hike.
Definitely recommended!
