My son's first summit
I figured this would be a nice easy hike to get my 3 year old son Jezreel into hiking mountains and to start getting him into shape. He was a bit slow, but we made it. This was his first summit he hiked entirely by himself. I am no longer carrying him on my back. He enjoyed the tower on top and called it a castle. He asked me, "Where is the princess, Daddy?"

Where's the snow?
Was looking for a nice easy snowshoe ascent for my parent's first, but only had 1-3", so it turned into their second hike summit instead!
5/2/10: Took the trail up Chief than traversed over Papoose to Squaw and back down the Squaw Mtn Road to my car. Also climbed a few of the other easy access peaks off the Squaw Pass Road, lots of peaks available for little effort on this road!
Note that the highest point is not the lookout, its in the rock outcrops to the west of the radio towers.
12/8/12: Repeat with Chief and Papoose. Also climbed Warrior and PT 11060.

Squaw Peak Road
Beautiful day for hiking, though it got a little breezy at the lookout tower. I saw only two other hikers, and I did see two government vehicles heading up the road. I scrambled around on some of the crags, and then headed over to the lookout tower. I heard some gunfire off in the woods on the way down. It was pretty heavy at times.

Standard route
I enjoyed a nice hike to the summit with my husband and one of our dogs. We carried our snow shoes the entire way. However, we were concerned that the sun would soften the snow during our hiked making our return route a post-hole hell. Clouds rolled in from the west bringing cooler air and blocking the sun. All in all a nice route, but off leash, out of control dogs (namely one woman with two large GSDs that wouldn't mind her "voice command" and harassed our dog) and massive piles of dog crap everywhere were a downer.
