very nice page, but can you provide a little more detail on climbing that summit block? I've seen that thing poking up over the tablelands from the Pear Lake area and thought it looked almost unclimbable. Any more detail would be appreciated.
I'm not sure if I can provide much more detail. When you get next to the summit block, the route up becomes obvious. There are rocks, cracks and ledges that provide ample footholds and handholds for a solid class 3 climb. I know what you mean, though. From far away, I remember thinking "How the hell do I get up that thing?"
thanks. the page looks real good, and esp. with the addition of midway and the traverse. i'd like to get out there on the high route, but not sure i have the guts just yet. i may try to strike out on a long overnighter from pear lake this spring to get up to midway/milestone area. thanks again for the good info
Well done! Text is informative and thepictures illustrate the route very well. That summit is something else! Very intriguing! You should note on the main page that specifics regarding the ascent of the summit block are in the route description. Fun looking mountain!
It's too bad more people don't take the time to do a good page like you do. Seems that the criteria for a four star page has been going down lately. This is a FIVE star page!

Untitled CommentI tinkered with the summit block portion a little to make it clearer.
