Just one day back, in a different valley nearby (you know it happens quite often you don't feel like getting back so you stay till midnight:-), I was about to step on another salamander - luckily my daughter halted me. Lovely creature - I encountered a common viper on Baraniarky summit...

I've never been to the Bieszczady:) As to the reptiles and amphibians, I've seen lots of adders but not so many salamanders. In the valleys of the Mala Fatra, they seem to show up every night!
