Climbed via the circuit. Beautiful day – most of the Monts McGerrigles were covered in fog, while Albert and the western Chic-Chocs were sunny. One of the few peaks in the Appalachians that feel like the Rockies. Bagged Mont Olivine on the way down.

Down the horseshoe
Gorgeous hike up the mountain from the lodge, then down the horseshoe and back. Approx 15 km hike. Beuatiful reddish rock like on Mars.
Great and formative times with some of my best friends to this day. 9 days skiing hut to hut with a sled through the Chic Chocs laid out a large passion in my life. Thanks you McGill outing club and friends. I think the very few turns we did get were on Mt Albert.

Tour du Mont Albert
I remember this as being one of the best hikes of the summer! A great side-trip while spending a summer in Trois-Pistoles
Walked up the peak with my skis on my back a couple times before I knew anything about ski touring gear. A true big mountain feel at the tip of Québec and great ski runs down to boot. You can't go wrong with this one on a sunny day!
Saw no caribou on top, though I did on Mont Jacques Cartier. Awesome hike, anyway. Lots of wide open views and still snow hanging in the bowls even in July.
Une belle petite montagne pour le Quebec, la seul affaire que je deplore c'est qu'elle est loin des grandes villes. De Quebec disons que c'est un peu loin.

Route Climbed: From Route 16 parking lot Date Climbed: February, 2004Did it with my ski touring equipment. It's a long ride but well worth the effort because of the tremendous views on top of the summit plateau.
