Good page. Good pictures. The place looks sooo interesting. Can you tell us more about its role in WW1? Could you describe the route that you took to the summit??? Thank you for Caring and Sharing. Thank you for your Time and Effort to get this information and photographs together.!!!!
Hi, I'm so sorry for the long time you must wait. But I didn't visit the SummitPost-site for a long time.
I used the cable car from Pejo Fonti to Rifugio Scoiattolo and to Rifugio Doss dei Gembri (2300m).Then I took the way nr. 105. You must walk from there about 1350 high meters. If you want to walk all of the way then you "make" 2143 high meters. When you arrive at Mantova al Vioz you see a beautiful panorama sight in direction Adamallo and Presanella. From the hut you need only about 20 min. to the summit. From the top you have a very nice view to the Forno-glacier. From here you see "the famous 13 summits". You know Königsspitze, Cevedale .....
Poor vote, but there's not much to the page right now. I wanted to let you know that I have a large 360° pano which still has to be labelled as I always forget to pack the correct maps in my luggage. So I had to do Croz dell'Altissimo this week....
If you want to attach pics from the route page to the main page just let me know. Also the Getting There info on the route might already be sufficient for the main page.
Bor, with Dave Smith's program we are now more and more using Google maps. As you are the owner of so many mountains it's quite necessary to correct Lat/Lon coordinates of them. They are more or less still all wrong.
Monte Vioz for example has: Lat=46.40117190189972, Lon=10.624809265136718.

Untitled CommentStill a lousy page but that pano saves it ;-)
You did a great job Bor, it took you longer than I would have thought. But the effort was worth it!
