Atop Carbon County
Up from Valentine Gulch via the Monument Peak Trail. Felt like fall on the Wasatch Plateau. A bit breezy but the aspens were large and the hawks were flying. Unfortunately some clouds were covering the San Rafael Swell and Castle Valley so we missed out on some views to the east. Great views north toward the Wasatch Range. I am excited to come back to the area.

Drive up
September 4, 2024, I had a desire to return to the Carbon County highpoint which is actually a drive up. So I did that today. When there via Spanish Fork Canyon and Scofield Reservoir. Returned via Fairview. The drive there was 87.9 miles, the return via Fairview was 83.7 miles. I got some photos of the Skyline Mine which I passed on the way there. The views from the summit of Nebo to the west and the city of Price to the east were nice.

July 4, 2021, Nice break from the over 100F temps in Orem. Only 65F on the summit. Drove up with my wife and great nephew.

Monument Peak
Attained my 11th Utah county high point with Monument Peak in conjunction with a trip to the other county high points in the Wasatch Plateau (East Mountain and South Tent Mountain).
I think this was my first Utah county high point. My wife and I drove up with our two-year-old and three-month-old sons. http://udink.org/2003/09/14/monument-peak/

Monumental Undertaking
After Nebo and North Peak the day before, decided an easy nice day out was in order. Did some kayaking on Scofield and then went and parked at the turn off and walked the final bit to the top of this high point. The back of the Wasatch Plateau was looking gorgeous with the snow and green! Thanks for a monumental view!

Drive up
Drove to the top, but did some amount of hiking while climbing neighboring small peaks, 8215, 9767, 9777, 10040, Trough Springs Ridge, and 10185. Lots and lots and lots of hunters around even though it was a Wednesday.

A twenty dollar bill wrangled its way out of my pocket up there. If you happen to find it, you're welcome.

via road
I drove to the top of this one after hiking up East Mountain (Emery Cohp) earlier in the afternoon after driving up from Vegas. When I topped out, the sun had been down about 20 minutes and the profile of the Southern Wasatch highlighted by the purple/orange sunset glow in the sky was just beautiful.

From Electric Lake
Hiked up old 4x4 roads and then cut cross country to make this a 4 hour outing. Descended another ridge and slide down on the quickly accumulating north side snow. Unique views of the La Sals, Tushars, Wasatch and Uintas.

Drive up
4th Ut COHP. Nice drive from Provo through Fairfield canyon and up to the summit. Drove back through Scofield. Nice end summer afternoon/evening loop. I bet it's even more gorgeous in the fall. So many aspen stands. Will have to go back in October.

Watch out for the sheep
Drove to the top, beautiful view at sunset. The most eventful part of the trip: excessive amounts of sheep droppings that flew up from the dirt road as I passed over on the way to the summit. An unpleasant car wash followed.

Windy
Hit this with my brother after we hiked East Mountain earlier in the day.
Tried to make this one a little bit of hike, but was thwarted by private property signs around Electric Lake. Instead I parked 1/2 a mile away on the Skyline Drive, got about 450 vertical feet out of it, a little better than just parking at the radio towers. At least this way I was able to also climb PT 10040 off the road.
