Mount Adams' summit

Mount Adams' summit

Mount Adams' summit, viewed from the convergence of Adams' northeast and northwest ridges. The crux of a summit bid from either of these ridges is to get up or around the cliff band that's apparent in this photo. October 16, 2004

nice shot with snow

looks like a striated maroon bell from here. Do you recommend 4 day weekend in Willow Lake area?

Re: nice shot with snow

Thanks for the vote!

Absolutely, but with one reservation. Its proximity to Kit Carson means Willow Lake means it's a popular place. A lot of others will be camped relatively nearby, so if it's pure solitude you're after, look elsewhere. With that said, it's a beautiful locale, and the number of relatively obscure 13ers around there (including the by-all-accounts fun traverse of three 13ers above upper Willow Creek: UN 13,580, UN 13,517 & UN 13,541) make it a worthwhile trip.
