Coffee on Mt. Adams
My daughter and I left Lunch Counter at 5:30am. At 8:05am we locked arms and marched together the last 80 steps to the summit of Mt. Adams. After hugs, congratulations, photos, and fresh perculated coffee (her idea), we glissaded back down. The view (and coffee), was worth it!:)

Late summit
My buddy was ready for another mountain and he picked Adams. Climbed up to the Lunch Counter and set up camp. At 5pm, we decided rather than waiting for the next day to climb, we would go for the top tonight. We reached the summit at 8pm and back to the tent at 9pm. Coming down from the summit during the sunset was very enjoyable. Slept in the next day and walked out. 2 days of perfection on the mountain.
Left Cold Springs TH at 4:30 am; 2 hrs to Lunch Counter, summitted after 4 hrs. Could see Baker, Glacier, Stuart, Rainier, St. Helens, Hood, and Jefferson. Awesome! Skied from the summit and then down the Southwest Chute on mediocre snow, but not bad for the end of July. 5000' continuous descent.

Mazama Glacier
Ascended via Mazama Glacier (Bird Creek Meadows TH is still not open so we traversed from the South Slopes parking lot). Got a bit lost glissading down the peak in a white out, but it made for a fun, long day.

Summit of Mt. Adams
South Spur. Had to trail break with Team russback... Check them out! www.teamrussback.com
Frigid, yet sunny and gorgeous. On the way down it clouded over and threatened snow, but the long, extremely-enjoyable glissade quickly brought us back down to the "safe" lowlands.

My first WA volcano. This was the beginning of an addiction...

First 12k peak I climbed
This was an awesome mountain to start on. It really helped me understand what goes into a successful summit.

My first snow climb and possibly my favorite. What an awesome glissade! I literally cried from joy when I reached the peak. It has paved the way for what I hope will be a lifetime of climbing.

South Spur
Lots of ice and heavy winds convinced our group leader into turning around, although I don't blame him. Made it to Pikers Peak on the upper 11 thousand feet.
Climbed the Adams Glacier, really a nice route, highly recommended. Skied the South Spur - the only way to do this route.

Mazama Madness
Mt. Adams is my favorite of all the big Cascade cones. It's as fun to climb from all sides as it is to ski down, but the east side is simply the best, from the Devil's Garden and Wilson Glacier to Bird Creek Meadows and the Mazama.

First Cascade Volcano
South Spur with T Sharp. Threatening clouds on the 7th turned into a nearly perfect climbing day. Looking forward to trying new routes and new volcanoes.

Nice hot weekend
A two day climb of Mt. Adams on the hot third weekend on July 2009.
Saw MANY other people climbing it but still had fun. The glissade was fantastic!

Fun intro to the Cascades
I ended up solo on this trip at the last minute when a partner got injured. Not feeling ready to solo Rainier I did the dog route on Adams instead, which was a little dissapointingly easy climbing, but amazing views and conditions. Perfect cramponing snow with an early start from 9k ft.
Would be brilliant with a ski descent.

2nd Volcano
Climbed with papa. Planned on 3 days, but decided to hike out on summit day. Not entirely clear, could see down below us, and a bit of the goat rocks. Interesting being in the clouds though. Quite pretty.

My partner was too gassed by base camp to continue so we set up camp and I went for the summit alpine style the next day. Good climb and excellent practice for bigger peaks.
