Northern Presidential traverse long day
Ascended the Great Gulf and Six Husbands trails to Jefferson, then traversed north to Adams and Madison before going down Osgood. 15 mile 6000' day. Spectacular even without much views.

Worth it
Came up Airline. Not as easy as I thought it would be but impressive for an Eastern hike.

Winter Ascent, flipped the car.
Date approximate. Climbed Mt Adams and Mt Jefferson in the winter (February) with Lee from Route 2 to the north. We had driven up from Boston the night before in my VW. Unfortunately there was black ice on the road and I went into an uncontrollable slide up a snow bank at a turn and the car rolled on to its side. A resident down the road helped us right the car, and we continued on to camp by Route 2.

Mount Adams Summit
Completed the climb in just over 7 hours. Started at the Appalachia parking lot. Took the Airline up and Valley Way down. Enjoyed the view of Mount Washington from the peak! No complaints other than the fact that the actual peak was extremely buggy... Had to beat the storm as we were descending down but for the most part the rain held off.

Presidential Traverse
Hit on a traverse of the Presidentials, north to south.
Did this as part of a loop hike. The weather was perfect, clear skies, no wind (a rarity), and cool temp. Went up the Valley Way trail, summited Madison, and then went over and took the Star Lake trail up the eastern side of Adams to the summit. I found the Star Lake trail more difficult than the Gulfside trail, but also more secluded. I couldn't have asked for a better day in the Presidential Range!

Mount Adams Climb
Did this as part of a long hike up Mount Adams, Jefferson, Monroe, and Madison. I don't remember the order, just that my buddy Chris and I were exhausted at the end of the day and having to stop to make some food in the dark because I was so hungry.
Great way to escape the heat down in the valley. Wanted to add Madison too, but it was getting too late in the day. Fun rock hopping!

Windy Day on the Summit
Summitted Mount Adams on a partly cloudy, below freezing day in February with Kieva. We stayed Friday night in Lancaster, NH and drove to the appalachia trailhead around 6:15am. We began a bit before 7:00am on the Airline trail, taking it directly to the junction with the Gulfside Trail near Madison Springs hut. From here we followed the cairns up and over a few small rocky outcroppings to the summit of Adams all while being blasted by 50mph winds shooting in from the South. We had a glimpse of Mount Washington from the summit but the fast moving clouds covered our views. The windchill must have been below -20. Went back down to Madison Springs Hut and followed the Valley Way Trail back to Appalachia. Arrived at the car around 4:00pm.

I think it was in the low 50s with a slight breeze at the summit, sunny beautiful day.

Winter hike
Climbed it during the "Polar Vortex" sweeping the Northeast in early January 2014 (01/09/14). Clear skies, windy above tree line and pretty cold but I was testing my plastic boots and didn't mind sub-zero temps at all. Up via Airline all the way to the summit, down via Gulfside to the Madison Hut and Valley Way to the parking lot at the Appalachia. Fun and quick winter hike out. Nice views from the summit. Worth it!!!
