Valley Way to Madison Springs Hut. After doing Madison, we tried Adams but were sent back by clouds and thunder. After a couple hours at the hut, we did Adams again and this time made it to the top.

Great day with Jamie and the Vampire Fruit Flies
Great hike up after from the Madison Hut as part of a two mountain hike along with Mt Madison via the Daniel Webster Trail. The trail up from Star Lake was a bit tricky near the top, but nothing too bad. I was expecting a "Mt Adams" sign at the top, but the only sign there read a bit like "keep moving, buddy".
Still, great weather, hardly any wind, met a great hiking buddy from NYC, and a ton of these little vampiric blood sucking black fruit flies that loved to fly into every little orifice on your face, if not sucking blood from other parts. (Sorry Jamie, but you had the worst time with them. I'd walk ahead, stir them up, and you'd then be engulfed in a cloud of them while I happily scampered away).

Presi Traverse
Last day of the traverse. So cloudy I could hardly see the cairns to find my way! The clouds finally broke on my way down.

Climbing Adams was very invigorating!During the final summit approach it was very icy and steep.I began to slide uncontrollably grabbing and digging my feet into the crusty snow with fright. It was a wake up call reminding me that its time for the crampons. From the summit,I was just speachless!Just about 1000ft above the clouds made for the majestic veiw to the Carter range. It was a very intense mountain. Its in my top 10....Jim W

A most perfect day
Summited via Airline trail and returned on the Great Gulf and Valley Way. We had absolutely perfect weather. It was about 30-35 degrees, not a cloud in the sky, no wind (except at the summit). Days such as this are vary rare in the Whites at this time of year.

Adams via Airline
Great Day to finish my NH 48 4K on Adams. Hike with my friend Dave who nabbed his 1st NH 4K. After hitting Adams we leisurely traveled over to Quincy Adams as the day was to nice to head straight back down. We came up Airline and headed back down Valley Way. Enjoyed the falls along Fallsway on our way out.

Late Summer Storm
see Madison post. After a rough night left my tent around Noon and quickly climbed Adams which proved fairly calm and very sunny. Got views from the Presidential Range for the first time in 3 trips. Well worth it. Descended through Thunderstorm Junction and the Edmond's Col to Jefferson.

Came from the Madison Springs hut. Another tough climb for me, but the views were fantastic. Headed to Jefferson from there.

My 1st above treeline
all excited to do this trip. It started raining when we got to craig camp. As it cleared, we decided to summit...clearish up until about Thunderstorm Junction. By the time we reached the summit...50 mph winds, "sleet" (honest...), and so foggy we hit to wrong trail down TWICE. I think I have PTMD...post traumatic mountain disorder! But...won't be my last climb...of that I am sure.

Mount Adams
Climbed with Madison and Jefferson via the Gulfside Trail from Lakes of the Clouds. A really tough trail that almost entirely runs across boulder fields and talus slopes. The fog eventually burnt off as we continued our traverse of the Northern Presidentials. Great views from the summit.
