standard route  Sucess!

The herd path is pretty well developed beyond the Bull Pasture sign, with numerous cairns. I still managed to lose the trail once on the way up and down. Two and a half hours to the top from the parking area. A Border Patrol helicopter buzzed the summit when I was back in the parking lot at sunset.

Gary Begin   Sucess!

Spent a wonderful day in Ajo with my brother and his wife. This is a great hike in the spring. The desert was full of flowers and we actually say running water in a few areas on the way up the trail. Compared to the Northeast where we are from, it's a totally different experience. This hike gives non-stop views all day long. We had no trouble following the cairns after Bull Pasture.

Steep with great views  Sucess!

Went with the TLC Group out of Phoenix, AZ. Estes Canyon Trailhead up the standard route. It was steep, but not too taxing. Tremendous scenery.

Fantastic Scenery!  Sucess!

Fairly cool day for this time of the year and a nice breeze at the top made it very pleasant. The hike itself was easier than expected with an easy to follow trail all the way to the top. Absolutely stunning scenery!

2x, wouldn't recommend our shortcut  Sucess!

Led this as part of a three day with Baboquivari, Stud Mountain, and Little Picacho when our attempt to climb Cerro Pinacate was shut down by "security concerns".

There's a trail all the way to the top and since several of us had been there before we tried to descend the gully to the west of the peak to make things more interesting. It's slightly brushy that way...

The hike on the ridge to the summit was full of sun and awesome views. Perfect. Estes Canyon Trail in the evening is a nice end to the hike.

Ajo spring day  Sucess!

Temps in the 80s made the hike a bit warm, but comfortable with the breeze, plenty of water and sunscreen. Panoramic views and vibrant colors, plus the cacti in bloom, made this one a treat. Will definitely be back to the monument.

100 mile view  Sucess!

Hiked standard Bull Pasture trail with my wife.
This peak gets a lot of DPS traffic, since it is on their list.
From the top I think we saw Mount Lemmon, 115 miles away.
Jonathan de Ferranti's computer panorama from Lemmon suggests
that this view is possible on a clear day.
