Aye!
Headed up the north ridge and down the north west ridge, taking different ways round the tarns on the way in and out from Angelus Hut to make a nice loop. Accompanied by Gerry the hut warden. Did a circuit round Lake Angelus the next day along the ridge line - takes 2-3 hours depending on how difficult you want to make it for yourself.

Great views of the Lakes
Fine weather in the morning when I hiked it then a rapid shift to 70km/h winds and billowing clouds as I descended the Roberts Ridge.

A nice morning outing from Angelus Hut
As I was hiking, I saw Mount Angelus from Angelus Hut and thought, why not try to get up there? I had no idea about routes, I just saw the mountain. I started by going to Sunset Saddle, just west of the summit, and scrambled up from there. I descended a scree slope more or less to the north-west initially, and turned north a bit later.
Left the Angelus hut on a beautiful morning and arrived on top 1.5 h later in heavy cloud. Up the w ridge, down the north face. Pity about the weather but that's NZ for you.
