The coldest summit of the week and the year, but not my life.

Mt Belford Climb
Took bit longer than I hoped and got lost for about 40 minutes near the second creek crossing which made me decide not to bag Mt Oxford as well but it was a very enjoyable hike despite being too steep with elevation gain of more than 4600 feet. Weather was OK for the most part except the short hail and ice storm near the false summits and high winds that exceeded 60 mph and made it hard to sometimes to keep balance near the top.
#1 9-6-15 Mit Yz. Talk about your cold biting unceasing west wind! Could put one into a nasty mood. But we persisted. Couldn't even stand on the summit without great risk to life and limb. Therefore we went over to Mt Oxford. By the time we struggled back over Belford the winds had backed off slightly. Wind chill was constantly in the mid 20s. 4+03 up to Belford.

Belford and Oxford (how original)
Good time, clear of snow mostly. Terrific weather. With Michelle.
Solo ski via the NW Gully route, recent snows had this one in prime condition with 3-4" of powder on a solid base. The gully is mellow enough to skin all the way to the top with some switchbacks. Also went out and back to Oxford, but it wasn't much of a ski. Belford, however, was a lot of fun.

Fun day, long
Climbed two 14ers with some great company on Saturday. Starting at 5AM from the Missouri Gulch trailhead we made the summit of Mount Belford around 12PM. I went on to solo neighboring Mount Oxford and had to reclimb Belford on my way back. Made it back to the trailhead at 5:30 making this a very long day. 11 miles roundtrip with 6000 ft. of elevation gain over 12 hours.

Belford
Straightforward hike from Missouri Gulch; made the summit about 9:30AM. Good weather, good scenery, good views of the whole Sawatch Range. Unfortunately, couldn't add Mt Oxford due to time constraints, but I'll be back.

A Sawatch combo
2,000' initial climb up to an old log cabin remanent from mining. Switchbacks are straightforward and the view only keeps getting better above gulch. Wind kept increasing too. Combined with beautiful saddle traverse to mt. Oxford.
