2nd: 8/30/20 - Solo, started with Bethel and traversed entire ridge around to Trelease.
3rd: 12/4/21 - Solo, quick up and down the dry southwest slopes. Felt like October.
Came down the southern slope. Pretty loose rock and a lot of light bushwhacking to get to the highway to walk back to the Herman Gulch parking lot.

Great Climb
Great day out. Short hike but makes up for it with steep elevation gain. Decent through the fences and down to the car is quite steep, but definitely a big check off my list as I've eye this mountain in both directions on I-70 for years.
Lots of snow melt in the bowl on Hagar, Citadel, Golden Bear but most of it has melted off Bethel.

Mt Bethel
10th Anniversary Climb with rkymtn. Steep and snowy in the trees. Great views.

Northern Slope
This was a great ascent with my wife, Peakbug, for our 10th anniversary. What a great day - the weather was picture perfect, the wildlife was abundant (many sheep along I-70, a deer on the trail, and two elk just above treeline), and the views up top were spectacular. It took a bit to figure out a safe stream crossing. We eventually opted for a snow bridge that was created by an avalanche. It was concrete hard, but I probed it to be safe.

Good condition
Parked below chutes directly above I70. Meandered through climbers left gully then onto terraced buttresses via class 3 mixed scramble. Snow was in good shape. At large natural shelf, hooked right and under corniced eastern ridge and then hopped on it and rode it to top. Steep as it looks. Gale force winds on summit. 50mph+. Descended north on summit ridge down to huge saddle then down via dry gulch (which looks like a boring route). About 4.5 hours RT solo.

Good climb from Dry Gulch. Short in miles but the climbing makes up for it.

South Ridge

Winter, south ridge
Hadn't really snowed in two weeks so I went for it. Someone had already broken a trail with snowshoes about a quarter mile up the road and another person had followed in boots, so I followed with snowshoes, then switched to micro spikes once i got above the treeline. Hiked the southern-most ridge most of the way then traversed over to the avy fences, and then straight up to the top. The wind was crazy, I had to descend immediately. The whole thing took a little over 3 hours - descending in the snow with micro spikes was easy (descended the same way) and low-stress on the knees. I had a wild time doing this, so awesome. The wind and the super steep grade had me nervous at times but I didn't slip once.
Traversed along the up-and-down ridge from Citadel then straight down the steep south face back to the trail. Checked out the snow fences while I was up there.

North Avy ChuteUp Herman's Gulch and bushwhacked up an old avalanche gully directly to the summit.
Didn't last long on the summit due to an incoming storm.
