I've had my eye on this one for over five years but have never attempted it. I had a good feeling the views from the summit would be great based on the topo map. Nice pics to the south of the Beaver Creek BLM area.
Thanks, CSMac. I tried this peak in January, but the hip-deep postholing through unconsolidated snow was just too much for a party of two.
I'll be posting a route soon. I strongly recommend a visit to Mount Big Chief. The wide-open views are just gonzo, you'll love it!

"Cautions"
Personally, I think your concerns are way more than validated, maybe even understated. I think almost every peak page for this area should carry a "Caution" or "Warning" section concerning all of the things you mention on this page. People's behavior up along here is offensive, and almost frightening.
