Way high winds by the time we were otw to Bross for the final peak, picked me up and decided I should have been walking about 5-10 feet away, only stayed cause the ridge is so broad.
Route Climbed: Democrat-Lincoln-Bross via Kite Lake Date Climbed: April 2005
Went out for a little solo manajatwa action (If that make sense) Well bagged Democrat in a jiffy. On my way to Lincoln I started to suffer for my speedy ascent and lack of acclimatization. On top of the gully I decided to nix Lincoln and head strait for Bross. After picking up one more peak for the day I beelined it back down to Kite-Lake. All in all a successful trip.
I think that's when I climbed it? Not sure, bad with dates!
Route Climbed: Kite Lake Date Climbed: August 1997
Last 14er of the group to summit for this day. I actually had the summit to myself at this particular time despite there being alot of people 'up here' today.
Took the quick way down via the scree slopes back to the gulch, lake.
Route Climbed: Kite Lake via Lincoln Date Climbed: Feb 15, 2005
Descending the gully to the west of this peak is quite nice if the snow is firm. Be sure to check it carefully before taking it. If it get's nasty, can probably find exposed rock to descend on the sides.
Route Climbed: Northeast Slopes Date Climbed: August 12th, 2003
A rather anticlimatic finish to the day as this summit proved to be a big fluke. For one, it wasn't really there and a pile of rocks was the only thing that set this flat piece of land a part from the rest of the scenery. I had quite a lot of fun establishing a new descent route from Bross towards Quartzville as finding a suitable trail that goes down that way without going through Lincoln proved impossible....at least the weather was nice.
Route Climbed: Decalibron Date Climbed: 17 September, 2004
My second ascent. Did it in Sept. 1994, and came back with the family so that 1) my wife could complete the Decalibron, 2) my daughter could do the entire Decalibron with me, and 3) my granddaughter could get her first twofer. Every bit as delightful as I remembered, and got some excellent pictures.
All three from Kite Lake in white-out. Watch for trail climbing back down from Bross or you'll come down the scree and screw up the mountain some more. Rock skiing is fun, but if hundreds of us do it, the moutain suffers.
