Backup Plan
Met up with someone to climb Mount Cleveland the morning of but got turned away from the permitting office in Waterton because the area around Cleveland had been closed due to a lightning storm starting fires the night before. This wasn't much of a consolation but it was a nice escape from the smoke. We did the Pondera County Highpoint the day after.

Fun Hike
Had to try this twice due to lightning chasing me off the first time. Second time was a perfect day.

Lots of elk
A nice hike with endless views of the surrounding prairie. Was still quite snowy and we needed our snowshoes to climb the last 200' of elevation. Could not find the summit marker or register due to the still-deep snow on top. A highlight of the day was seeing a large herd of elk on the upper slopes of the mountain.

Great view
Great views despite haze from fires in Idaho which made viewing the Front difficult. Outstanding view of the plains for miles around, and a pleasant route for the most part.
