Mt Callaghan Spitboard
Fun outing with Ryan. Approached from the east via the Callaghan Creek Ranch (you pass through about 1/4 mile of private property, all public land otherwise). Was able to drive to about 6700 ft, skinned from there. Snow was mostly sub-par quality (crusty, wind-blown), but the upper bowl just below the east side of the summit plateau yielded some awesome turns. 3 snowcats carrying radio tower maintenance guys showed up when we were on the summit. Just shy of 4 hours car to car, 7 mi 3400 ft gain roundtrip. Maybe the first time the east side of this mountain has been skied?

Walk up
Ken Jones and I walked up the last two miles of road to the summit and felt we "earned" it by doing so. The wind was howling up on top and kept our summit visit to a minimum as the wind chill factor kept us from lingering. We found a register and a geo cache (the geo cache was in poor shape). The register had been placed in 2006 and had just a few others that had signed in. Great views in all directions.
