It's Electric!
Planned on Democrat, Lincoln, then Bross - hit Democrat, then made it up to Cameron when a bolt of lightning struck nearby. I got shocks from my hiking poles, are hands went numb, and women's long hair stood on end. I've never gotten off a peak faster in my life! Gave me a healthy respect for lightning in Colorado.

Route: Kite Lake
Climbed this one with Old Guide as part of our annual summer father & son 14er climb after Democrat. Beautiful weather early in the day which built into the normal summer storm clouds enough so we turned around.

Democrat-Cameron Combo
Kite lake start in late september. About an inch of snow on the ground. Made the hike to democrat with no real problems, only blowing snow. Descended to the saddle and headed up Cameron. We arrived on top to a 60mph blizzard. since everyone had already done lincoln, we moved towards bross, but couldnt see the broad ridge in the whiteout, so we followed our tracks back down to the saddle and to the car.
whats not to love....just don't fall in a booby trap mine hole.

Bulldoze it? Nah, dig!
Someone below suggests bulldozing the peak. Phooey! I say let's dig deeper on the connecting saddle from Lincoln and make it count. =)

Decalibron: 2nd down
2nd leg of the Decalibron. Probably more real a climb than Lincoln since I had to climb up from the Democrat/Cameron saddle.

Depending on whether or not you consider Mt. Cameron a 14er, we completed Democrat, Cameron, Lincoln, and Bross. There was still enough snow on Bross for a small glisade.

Too bad Cameron's summit doesn't rise 300 ft. or more from the Cameron~Lincoln saddle, than this peak would be an official summit! There would be yet another true 14er in Colorado. Oh well, Still worth visiting.

Route: Kite Lake Loop
A bump on the way to Lincoln, very windy as I recall...poor Mt. Cameron...always 4th best...I've brushed shoulders with Cameron twice (8/9/02 on way to Lincoln with family), but not worth the two separate log posts...Hmph
