Forgot how big a grunt it is
Great views on my second time to the summit. One of the best peaks in the park.

Classic and crowded
Great hike - ran into some nice folks from the Flathead on top. Sometimes it's easy to grumble about the crowds but then you remember you're lounging on top of a mountain in shorts and a t-shirt and casually identifying distant peaks while eating a Snickers.

Special summit as it was #40 of the season. The haze and smoke made for an unbelievable sunrise

Spooky
A spookier outing than I expected, especially going solo. More exposure than I'm used to on class 3, maybe 4? That pitch to gain the summit has a bit of a pucker effect, and the gaps in the summit ridge will definitely get your situational awareness up. Overall, a fun time, with some route finding challenges on the way.

From Clements with Drew, Tyler, and Terezie. One of my favorite summits of the summer, with some of the best views one could imagine.

Took about 1hr 45 minutes from Logan Pass to summit. Threatening clouds to the west made for a hasty descent. Great views of the Livingston Range.

Second Attemp
Tried it two years before as part of a two peak day after climbing the east side of Clements but ended short with severe leg cramps. Took three friends up this time, one of the funnest mountains I have ever climbed, will definitely do it again.

Great Climb
Nice weather, and the route is lots of fun with some route-finding necessary despite (or perhaps because of) ubiquitous cairns littering the slopes. The summit ridge is fantastic, with just enough scrambling and exposure to keep you on your toes. Took a quick side trip to the small northeast ridge spur before heading back down; it's well worth the extra 15 minutes for the great view of the north face you've just been standing precipitously on top of. A Glacier classic.

Also did Oberlin & Clements. Don A. & I met up with Rod & Bill on the summit of Clements and went on to Cannon together. Cannon was much more interesting than I had expected. There was some fun class 3&4 climbing.

Windy but beautiful
We took different routes up and down the gullies just to see which was easier. Was a hot, sunny, windy day. We missed the trail early on that was hidden by snow and we had to create our own route to BW pass. Lots of snow this year

Solo (as in alone). Wow - 32 years since I did it last - that's longer than I had been alive when I was there last. A beautiful sunny warm day with little or no wind.
1979 with Moni and Bob & Linda Stephan -a beautiful crisp fall day.
