Mount Conness's North Ridge...

Mount Conness's North Ridge approach map. The approach is simple, but routefinding care must be taken on the descent down the East Ridge, particularly if you've never climbed it before. Click here for a full-sized version.

Good map!

You know, a good map such as this is very handy and often underrated here. I'm thinking about climbing this route sometime, and voilla, there's the route, nicely displayed!

Nice job.

Re: Good map!

Thanks, glad you might find it useful. If you haven't already, try the full-sized version that I linked to--you could probably print that directly. I should have used the map more on the way down--we got somewhat lost in the dark!

Re: Good map!

I don't think I've ever replied to such an old comment, but the URL to the fullsize map is no longer working. Perhaps you still have the file hanging around somewhere? :)

Re: Good map!

Wow, so this was ten years ago. You've made me feel old! I changed the URL, so it should work properly now. Enjoy the climb, it is nice.

Oh the NO! trail option

Great map. Wish I found this before doing the route in 2004. Like others, I took the "NO!" descent trail and ended up in the valley in darkness. Very difficult routefinding by torchlight, so spent the night in the open, clinging to my lovely wife who I think was planning a divorce.

Wonderful climb though - just watch out for the frequent summer electrical storms.

Re: Oh the NO! trail option

Heh-heh, we did exactly what you did. If I hadn't have carried the pack on the way down, I too might be divorced. ;-)

Cheers,
