Diablo
Drove to the top. Nice wide views though kinda foggy towards the city. Cool that they kept the actual highest rocks within the visitor center but sticking out so you could touch it.

Summit Trail
Summit trail from the north/south road junction. Surprised to see a $10 entrance fee. Hazy and windy up top.

Old Friend
Throughout my life, this mountain has been there. Top roping at Rock City. Cycling hillclimbs during bicycle racing days. And over 200 summits and counting as a place of preparation for higher altitude ascents. As I sit here, I can hear the bees buzzing in the Manzanita in springtime, the hooting of rowdy coyotes across the canyon, and the calls of a pair of crows as they give me a fly-by.

Ice Road
Nice sunny day in the 40's on the hill but snow and ice over night shut things down from the N/S intersection up fo the day. Quick 5 mile up and back on Summit trail.

Mt Diablo
Hiked all the way up from the park boundary to the top on the Summit Trail. The previous day it rained, so the trail was pretty muddy. It was still a fun hike though, with good views from the top. Here is a more detailed trip report: http://blog.compasstales.com/2012/04/09/hiking-mount-diablo/

Mt Olympia Trail
Olympia to North to Diablo. It was a lot easier than I had anticipated based on the posted trail description. The ridge between Olympia and North is a much more fun and speedy. While it's loose, its really no harder then second class baring poor route finding.

good workout
Depending on how you do this, this can be a real good workout and perfect training for bigger mountains. I come up from the suburban northside, not to avoid the entrance fee, but because the trails up that side are I think the most scenic and uphill
