Back Creek/Bald Ridge
Been up this mountain many times, by bicycle back in racing days, and by foot, up the back side routes. Every time up is different. Today the summit was cloaked in fog, visibility about 15 feet. No matter. This mountain always is fair game for a good hill-climbing workout and today was no different.

From Mitchell Canyon x2
From Mitchell Canyon with Jeff, Todd, and Devin on a very hot day. Ice cream on top made it all worth while.
Too hazy for much of a view.
Repeated in 2009 as a team building exercise with coworkers.

Second Time to Mount Diablo
Climbed Mount Diablo for a second time, taking the rarely-used Olympia Trail and bagging Mt. Olympia and North Peak on the way. Strenuous/steep hike but breathtaking and off the beaten path.

First Time to Mount Diablo
Fun relatively easy hike (Back Canyon/Murchio/Prospector's gap route) with great views. Needs to be route-finding-aware due to confusing signs and crisscrossing trails.

Home Mtn
I grew up looking at this mountain everyday, living in the East Bay. I guess the 'Devil' started my love for mountains.

out-and-back after Rose
Having done Rose Peak earlier in the day, I opted for the easy approach before heading to North and Olympia. It was surprisingly chilly when I started at 6pm - temp up top was 6C/42F. Glad I had a windbreaker.

I
A bit hazy, but some nice views of the various river basins. Tarantulas weren't quite out yet.
I have ever done. The gusts must have been around 130 mph on top. But the views on this lonesome peak are great. We can see San Francisco in the distance

From Mitchell Canyon
Total human power on this ascent. 8.5 miles of biking then 13 miles of hiking to the summit and back before another 8.5 miles of biking home. All those suckers who drove up don't know what they're missing!

Date climbed: too many times to count. An outdoor person's local paradise. Hiking, some climbing, and great road riding! I'm blessed to live so close. Yay mountains!
