Four in a Day  Sucess!

Wouldn't say great hike, but enjoyable enough, combined with the other three in the range.

Second of three  Sucess!

Only took me fifty two minutes to hop over to this summit from Donaldson. The mud on the ridge was mostly avoidable.

Long Hike, Small Summit

Summited after Mt Donaldson (of course) and then went on to Seward Mt. Great weather, and the trail was even dry! Took the Caulkin's Brook trail, was very easy to follow and easier than coming up from the Ward Brook trail. Great day, just under 12 hours. Mt Emmons had a small summit area with a sign and very few partial views. A few nice views along the ridge though.

Mount Emmons  Sucess!

Summited Mount Emmons 4040' on a wet, stormy day. Our group of 5 started at the Seward Range Trailhead and followed the trail towards Calkins Brook. We took a left at the cairn near the brook, crossed the brook, and followed the heard path to the col between Seward and Donaldson. From here we summited Donaldson Mountain, and then continued down to the col between Donaldson and Emmons. The trail was very muddy but we reached the summit without much effort. We were caught in a downpour on the way back up to Donaldson. It was a very unconfortable hike out back to the car.

Spring slog  Sucess!

Trifecta along with Donaldson and Seward for me and RD Jim. 11 hours car to car. Wet and muddy, with some patches of snow on the ridge, and a great adventure! #37/46.

Sewards  Sucess!

This was the grand finalle of the Seward range for us.Not alot here but a secluded wooded summit. One rock standing within the balsam furs letting you know that you are on the top of the mountain. The trail offered much of the same as Donaldson with lots of blowdown and carpet mosses. It might just be me,but I love these kind of trails. For around a mile or so,you are completely encased within the upper forests.JW

Route climbed: fro Donaldson  Sucess!

Last in the Seward-Emmons dayhike. Pleasant enough over from Mt. Donaldson, even in the mud. Weather was fantastic, few hikers, pretty enough views from the summit.

A great day.

Mount Emmons  Sucess!

Climbed with Seward and Donaldson via the Duck Hole Trail from Route 3. Easily the least interesting mountain in the Seward Range. A long, tough approach. No views to speak of at the summit either.

Heard Path to Canister?  Sucess!

Well, I don't have to go back. I can find something positive about every summit! The slide climb to the NP trail might be more interesting.

Dayhike of Seward, Donaldson, and Emmons. Lots of mud at the top. Only one I saw with the marker still at the top. Lots of people along the ridge today.

Route Climbed: herd path on the ridge Date Climbed: Aug 19, 2001  Sucess!

Hiked from the Coreys Rd trailhead to Seward, Donaldson, and Emmons as a day hike. The herd path on the upper half and ridge was awful. I never want to come here again. This hike tied with my hike of Redfield and Cliff as the worst herd paths I have ever seen.
