Very nice Larry. It's great to see the JPW getting more SP attention. It seems a good deal more accessible in the winter than the neighboring IPW and I suspect I'll be spending a good deal of time up there. Also, I've been wondering what that large square object on the summit of Eva was for some time. I thought it might be a particularly well-constructed summit shelter or something ;-)
I don't know about "well", I've been up HBP and have been to the East Portal TH a number of times. Oh, and Saint Mary's Glacier.
Actually, I had dinner last night with SPers Chris Gerber and pksander. We're talking about doing a Mummy Mania-style trip (James Mania?) crossing from Berthoud Pass to Rollins Pass (or vice-versa) at some point in the next month or two. Interested?
Yeah, I was reading your "Sick traverses" thread this evening. You're tempting me but I'd better not commit to that trip. Let me know if you're doing a shorter climb up there this winter.

Untitled CommentThanks for your good work on Heartbeat Peak there. You seem to know the area well. I may get up there once or twice this winter also.

Untitled CommentLooking real good. I'm always amazed at 4000er without an ice cap.

Untitled CommentThis one is barely 4000 m. No significant snow late into September, much less an ice cap.
