Packed Journey Up at Sunset
Climbed up with the fam at Sunset. Brit ran the loop while I carried Journey up to the summit. Brit got lost somehow on the loop and we had to come down in the dark with only 1 phone light. Fun night regardless!

Evening Stroll
Started on the trail about 6:15 p.m. Saw relatively few people descending as we ascended the Cedar Gulch Trail. We had the summit to ourselves. Fun little mountain with tons of wildflowers.

Galbraith
I was in Denver for some classes and since class got out early today, I climbed Mount Galbraith from the NIghtbird Gulch Trail. This trail is the longer of the two routes and has more elevation gain, but I thought it would be a better route since more of it is south facing and would have less snow.
I hiked up the Nightbird Gulch Trail to the junction of the Cedar Gulch Trail. To this point, there wasn't much snow. I then took the loop trail (with quite a bit of snow) to the southeast and climbed the southeast ridge of Mount Glabraith to the summit. There was snow, but it wasn't too difficult.
Quick trip up and off trail to tag the summit as fast as possible. At least the clouds cooled things off.

Great place to Trail run
One of my favorite trail runs. It was good to hit this trail again after several years away. Perfect day!

Evening Serenity - Good Training
I'm just trying to get back in shape for climbing some of the bigger mountains. Managed to get to the summit in 49 minutes and without stopping for a break. I started climb around 6:45 PM. There were only a few others on the mountain when I started, and none by the time I returned to the parking area. Even though it is right on the western fringes of Denver area, it is still a natural area. I saw a mule deer, raven, other birds, and a fox.
Good workout and convenient to Denver area residents. Trail is steep and narrow in places. The parking lot was full on a work day, but everyone was fairly spread out, so it didn't feel crowded. Great views of Denver, Coors Brewery, Colorado School of Mines, and some snow-capped peaks to the west. I wasn't in shape, but still made the roundtrip in a reasonable time of 2 hours and 15 minutes.

Cedar Gulch/Galbraith Loop
I hiked it with my friend Jamie and her two dogs. This was my 2nd time on Galbraith. It was a little chilly and it rained at first, then it stopped, then it started snowing when we got back to the trailhead. I think there is a wildfire burning somewhere, because the pollution was lying heavy over Denver on this day.
