Route Climbed: Old fire tower approach from zealand road Date Climbed: October 1999
We started at 4:30 from the road. It only took about 1 hour to reach the top and we were down just as it was getting really dark. A relatively easy 4000'er.
Route Climbed: Lend-a-Hand Trail to Hale Brook Trail (part of N. Twin > S. Twin > Guyot > Zealand > Hale day trip) Date Climbed: October 1, 2005
I solo hiked this peak after splitting off from my hiking partners near Zealand hut. Lend-a-Hand has numerous bog bridges that were showing their age and there was a great deal of water/mud still on the trail from a storm over a week ago. There were obvious signs of much more water in most places (i.e. pine needle rings high on rocks and bog bridges). It was not the best marker trail I've ever hiked on. But it was very gradual and the weather was awesome, so it all evened out. The Hale Brook Trail had a large amount of blow down from the same storm and there were a lot of trees down in the trail. I didn't see anyone from when I started on Lend-a-Hand until I hiked out of Zealand Road and back to my car. It was very peaceful.
We hiked up from Zealand Falls and Hut. After admiring the view down to Mt .Carrigain from the hut, we hiked to the top. Mellow summit. One path was the Lend a Hand trail.

Route Climbed: Lend-a-Hand Trail Date Climbed: 15 Jan. 2005Beautiful winter day with a couple inches of untouched powder. Saw one set of tracks that had come up from the other side, but never met anybody.
For much of the way I was following tracks left by a lynx or bobcat.
