What a shame
I turned back at the first fence; did not seem to be worth the chance of being caught by an ill-tempered employee. Also, about 50% of the trail down from Wilson has been ravaged by last October's fire... many charred manzanitas.

From Mt. Wilson
After finishing the official HPS entries in the Mt. Wilson area, figured to add Harvard as well. Walked down from Wilson, then up the service road. Found both gates open and just strolled to the actual top, which was flattened for the communications equipment. Antennas make the place feel claustrophobic, so I left soon. Did not see anyone around.

First stealth peak
Hastings, Yale, Jones, Harvard and Wilson. Long day, but fun.
Did this after coming up the 7 mile Mt. Wilson trail and going to the top of Wilson. Went through the gate and was dismayed to see higher parts of the summit fenced off, so I made my way around the fences (back towards Wilson) and found a high point on the Northeast side so I could say I truly summited. I then proceeded down and all the way around, by Yale, and then took the steep ridge down to Hastings and Jones, and dropped back down to the last mile of the Mt. Wilson trail back to my car.

1st time
I couldn't remember if I had been to the summit before or not, but decided to do it along with Wilson. When I reached the gate, I realized that I hadn't done it before, unless it was before the gate. I just walked up the road to the second gate, a few workers saw me but didn't pay any attention to me. A met a couple of trucks on the way down, they just waved at me. I'm not advocating doing this, maybe I just didn't meet the 'wrong' people!

Via Bailey Canyon / South Ridge
This one wasn't in the original plan. Once on Yale I decided to continue north dropping down slightly onto the shoulder that connects the two. Then ascended up the steep North ridge. Once at the top I ran into a telecom staffer. He cut me some slack when he realized how I reached the summit. Taking the use road out I passed the two barbed wire security fences.

From Mt Wilson
Before they had the towers it was a pristine peak. Hiked it with my brother-in-law after hiking to Occidental and Wilson.
