Nice loop hike over Rasberry and Herman. Neat to see a paraglider heading up there!

Mt Herman Rd TH
Finally got around to hiking this one as it is so prominent from I-25 on the way to Colorado Springs. I made my way over to Raspberry Mountain as well for good measure.

mt. Herman: lets climb it in the snow!
(Dates speculative)Spent 5 days exploring lesiurely around Mt. Herman in Blizzard (wimpy blizzard)like conditions with 5 others. Enjoyed plenty of pristine views and wildlife. Encountered only a few people while moving along the road to another trailhead. I'm curious to know if anyone has attempted/ succeeded the actual summit during winter/ heavy snow times. I'm returning to clorado for christmas vacation and would like to give it a shot, extending it into a 2night 3 day hike/ camp along the trail. Perhaps there are some longer routes that extend from Limbaugh canon up to the peak? Thanx rock__freek@hotmail.com
Biked up the road from the bottom and up the trail aways, stashed the bikes in the woods for the Class 2 summit push.

Nice hike
Nice hike. Didn't go over to Raspberry - too late in the day, too much rotten snow. Didn't find the BM, but found the reference mark. The north ridge past the summit is surprisingly more blocky rugged than appears on the map.
Headed out on an overcast Saturday to complete the hike previously attempted in February (got turned back due to the heavy snow and lack of a good route). A total of two hours up and down with plenty of stops for taking in the surroundings.

Nice Spring HikeNice to do a few runs up here in the spring when I tend to be wary of the snow on higher mountains.
