Long Ass Day!
I think we were both exhausted from back to back trips - Daria and I just about bailed at Elinore Lake. Fighting the trees and brush instead of taking the boulder field just hacked my mojo in half. With a mere hope of summitting before dropping dead, we dug deep and continued on. What a pile of crap! Enjoyed any kind of scrambling (never put crampons on) up and down this turd. Success!
Made it up to Scimitar Pass. Climbing partner was done and not in the mood for more. I quickly scrambled up Mount Jepson, then returned to partner, who was resting on the pass. It took 7 hours to get him down to the base camp, in the dark. We were camped behind the marshy area at the opening of the approach to Scimitar. Did not find the camp. Spent the evening in the open.

From Scimitar Pass
With Palisade Crest, for the 2009 Sierra Challenge. An easy boulder-hop with a disappointing notebook-paper register, but nice views.

Via Scimitar Pass
This was not the first time I went over Scimitar Pass. But this pass sure is one of the most impressive Sierra crest crossings.

Day seven of the 2004 Sierra Challenge, ten of us started out from Glacier Lodge, summited with Mark after tagging Palisade Crest. Joe had beat us by a few hours. Trip Report
