Jon, That sounds like an interesting job. You have no doubt seen the movie Flight of the Phoenix?
No definitive plans for fall. Andy and talked about trying to do something in the IPW in the next few weeks. Any ideas? Perhaps we could converge there some day? I also need to do a lot of hikes with my wife this fall, as we are heading to Kilimanjaro in January.

Anyway this was a realy neat area for me because I have ignored the park based on my preconceptions... this climb opened my eyes. I would not classify it in the same league as Jagged but if I ever get over that way perhaps I could compare and contrast it. Hope fall is treating you well.
Jon-Ten years ago I had the same preconceptions of the Park. You and I now know that's a bunch of bull. I hope you enjoy as many treasures and surprises in the Park in the future as I have! It's a wonderful place!

Superb job. I like the commentary on RMNP and Glacier Gorge especially. Kudos on taking the tough route through Forest Canyon! I've only heard miserable things about that bushwhack, but the rewards are so great.

Hey, bottom line-we had s great day that tested our physical and mental well being and we handled it with a postive attitude and a ton of power bars.

Realy I had a great time that day and when I think back to it I think of walking along the shores of Arrowhead Lake or along the stream teeming with trout as it meanders through grassy meadows... I don't think so much about stepping over yet another down tree or sinking it a boggy expanse of willows. I hope my description does serve as a deterent because it would be quite unfortunate if my route description encouraged someone to go there if they did't fully know what they were getting into. I might rewrite the route description to make it more useful.
Anyway. Hope Kebler treated you right. What did you climb? How is Jim? Oh and if you do a Terra Tomah page take whatever info you want from Julian.
Look for a Marcellina Mountain SP page tonight. Jim and I had one hell of a trip. Marcellina on Sunday, West Beckwith attempt (500ft from summit-turned away by an ascending, skinny-ass knife ridge with 1000-ft dropoffs on both sides) and the summit of Ohio Peak in the Anthracite Range on Monday, and Teocalli on Tuesday.
The leaves are peaking as we speak. Lets do a hike sometime soon and I'll fill you in on the details.

Mount Julian is a beautiful peak and deserves a page like yours. When I was bushwhacking up Stones Peak I was keeping my spirits up by thinking that you and Kane must have found it even harder in Forest Canyon. So, I don't know whether and when I will attempt Julian, though it certainly vies with Hayden Spire for the title of best-looking mountain in its surroundings. The south face is quite impressive, and so is the ridge that connects it to Cracktop--at least when seen from Chief Cheley.
