Ocean to Peak Adventures: Mountain Summit Challenge 2023
This was summit #5 for me.

Dayhike
Easy road hike but awesome mountain. Met a local on top who was using a large mirror to sign the coast guard on the lake running a training session. He was very generous with his information about the tunnels he's working on to regain access to the main shaft. He also shared some interesting stories that were less believable, one of the better mountaintop convos I've had.

Hot Hot Hot!
Wright and Buckingham with my very tolerant, but adventurous wife. Temps were well into the 100's during a rather nasty heatwave. Trip Report

Standard Route, Wright Peak
Never thought of the origins of Mt. Konocti so I appreciated knowing that it's a dormant volcano. It's presence adds so much to the entire Clear Lake area. The route up keeps the heart pumping the entire way at a comfortable grade.

5 Peaks of Konocti
Same routes as Davide below. Went up the fire lookout on top of Wright Peak for some amazing views. TR is HERE.

All five peaks
Did all five peaks. Clark from Soda Bay Road and the other four from the park parking lot on Konocti Road.
South Peak was the most interesting with a new use trail cut into the brush. It's not easy to follow, but goes up from behind the restroom on the man trail all the way to the summit rocks with a class 2 scramble to get a great view above the treetops.

Just right
After a LONG drive from my home in Utah, this hike was just what I needed to get a workout. I was surprised by the bathrooms, tables and view benches along the road to the top but appreciative of the obvious work that has gone into making this peak accessible to everyone. I had a nice day to hike and my wife didn't mind sitting in the vehicle while I did the hike thanks to the bathroom and nearby table. It is easy to add nearby Howard and Buckingham Peaks since they have roads to their tops. By doing so, it was easy to add some more elevation gain.
Cobb Mtn was in my plans for the next day before we'd go to my son's home in the bay area. One warning, do not take road 175 north to south if you have passengers that can get car sick.

Wright Peak
Wright Peak via the popular trail. Quite boring fireroad except for a few viewpoints with big concrete benches until the last leg to the summit fire lookout tower. To get views to the north you have to hike down on the north side of the tower a few yards beyond the trees to where it opens up.

3 Peaks
Tagged the two main summits (Wright and Howard Peaks) plus Buckingham Peak. Very nice January day. Looks like the Snow Mtn Wilderness has a lot of snow.

Ran it
Drove to the dirt parking area about halfway up and then ran up the rest of the way with my brother. Great run with a good ascent/descent. Nice and windy at the top!

New Years Day
The large photo on the SP page makes this peak look attractive. But no real reason to hike this peak. Views towards Shasta and Lassen are blocked by trees and just a fire road to the summit. Oh well got out of the house today. If your in the area go ahead and hike but I wouldn't plan a trip to hike/walk to this summit

East Side Power Line
I hiked up the power line easement on the east side of Buckingham and then followed roads around to the summit. Nice day with about 8" of snow on top.
Sort of successful. Had less than two hours so I hiked up an old utility easement that leaves the Rivera West community. This turns out to be the hardest part but the 5 miles round trip to the highest point via road would have exceeded my time limit so I'll be back next year.
Went back in 2012 with my wife and did all three summits via the now public and well maintained trail
