From the Boulderfield
After climbing Storm Peak, I thought I might as well do Mt Lady Washington as well. I thought it amazing how easy it looked from Storm Peak, but there really is a lot of boulder hopping to do to get to the summit.
After a trip up Longs Keyhole route was denied by high winds combined with cold temps, our new objective became Chasm View and then Mt Lady Washington. We came short of reaching Chasm View but did get a view into the Chasm Lake Cirque, then traversed up the ridge to the both summits of Mt Lady Washington, then down the east side. The east side is very steep. This is a great alternated if turned away from Longs due to high wind and cold weather. The summit of Mt Lady Washington was also very windy. East slopes x2
5/7/06 - A quick spring solo hike utilizing the well-packed Longs Peak Trail. Windy as usual.
2/11/12 - Surprisingly nice winter day.

The Recon Mission
Summited on way to check out chasm view and the start of Longs' North Face route for this winter's mission. Then on to Storm. Lots of wind today too... not a whisper in the trees but Mt Lady W had gusts between 50-60mph.

Wind!
Guy I met on the moraine said it's windy like that all the time, but the general conseensus was 50 mph gusts. Enough to blow me down stretching for a 2+ move 3/4 up. Mountain's bigger than it looks.

Lady Washington and Battle Mountain
Hiked up from the Longs Peak Trailhead and climbed the eastern slope. Descent was down to Granite Pass and then over to Battle Mountain. Fine clear, yet cool, October day.
Crossed over after climbing Storm Peak. A quick scramble from the Boulder field. Accidentally climbed the lower South summit first.

West slope
One day after I left sea-level Holland, I went up to this mountain. Although it is just a walk up, I was exausted.

Great View
Climbed up to the ridge from the boulderfield to get a look at the diamond. Continued up to the top. That view is unbeatable when the skies are clear.

Spring Break
Second attempt with much less wind than the first time. Had some short but great glissading on the way down.

east slopes
climbed the east slopes with jamie. soft snow made the blocky route much more of a pain than it needed to be. the view of the diamond from the summit is dynamite! descending the north ridge towards granite pass was a much nicer route. caught a few, short glissades on the way out.

not longsAborted attempt at longs due to insane winds. This was a fun objective given the weather. The view of the Diamond is awesome.
