lamarck col is good to know about... a real quick easy route up to the evolutions, I had no idea - I climbed up to the right side of the col (no snow) and then found some class 3/4 scrambling along the ridge, followed by an easy finish - cody stayed by the col

Lamarck Col and East Face
Beautiful weather and views! Hiked up from Upper Lamarck Lake, where me and my gf camped the night before, and scrambled up and over the Col to outstanding views of Darwin and Mendel. Descent via East Face (class 2-3). Like to come back and climb North Couloir some day!

Annual "October-Fish" Hike
Out for a day of backcountry fishing at Lamarck Lakes but it was too windy for fishing. Scrambled up the southeastern slope (class 3 at best) Solo, while Bob (my brother) headed back down to North Lake. Tagged what I believed to be the true summit, the highest horn on the East side of the vast summit plateau. Very windy on the summit with 80 mph gusts.

From Larmarck Col
Fun jaunt up to the summit from the col. after spending four days in the Darwin canyon, and climbing Darwin. A wonderful summit that shows the beautiful, austere faces of Darwin and Medel.

East ridge
As a rest day from the Sierra Challenge, Tom and I headed up to Lamarck Col and left the trail early, shooting for Larmarck's east ridge. It was surprisingly decent class 2 talus scrambling, and although the summit views were superb, it was also quite cold and windy so we didn't linger.

Made a quick scramble up the southeastern slope (class 3 at best) with Sierra renagade and talus sprint-master Rick Kent, while Debbi headed over Lamarck Col (she had tagged Lamarck two years prior). Tagged the summit, signed the register and took off over to Mount Darwin for some fun on the North Face Couloir (AI2).
