From Job
Enjoyable outing, I think Lincoln had even better views than Job. Descended via ridge into Middle Pete canyon.

Long Canyon
Missed the left road turn and accidentally ended up in Long Canyon. Took the ridge between Pete and Long Canyon up to the Job/Lincoln ridge and tagged Lincoln before Job.
The "Pack Trail" marked on the topo is a pack of lies.
Clear cold day with visibility to Mt Rose to the west and the Toiyable Crest to the east.
I have been on the summit of Mount Lincoln 5 times and I have traversed from Job Peak a couple of times, easy hike. There is another route that is more direct and takes less time. See my notes in the comments of the posted route photo for the Long Canyon Route.
If you run out of water (don't run out of water in the Stillwater Range) there are springs in the two branches of the South Fork of Long Canyon. Filter the water.
You serious hikers/climbers will appreciate this route, however, no technical skills are needed.
Route Climbed: Traverse from Job Peak Date Climbed: March 31, 2003
Did the somewhat long traverse from Job Peak with nice views (albeit overcast). Bearbnz and myself were the first ones to sign the new register placed in 2000! Cool --- and tourist-free!

Made the three mile traverse from Job Peak with ScottyS after our ascent of Job Peak. There was a high overcast, and strong winds on a cold day, but the air was relatively clear, making for good visibility.

Route Climbed: Traverse from Job Peak Date Climbed: April 11, 2005Fun hike with some excellent views and no sign of other people--well worth the long drive out here from the Bay Area.
