Colorado prominence trip
I've switched from working on the 14ers to working on the 14ers with 2,000+ feet of prominence. Picked this one off on my way to Culebra and Crestone, which are in the list of 100 most prominent peaks in the 48 states.
Lincoln was the coolest of the 4 summits. By now (9am) the sun was very bright and warming up the mountain. It felt very nice. Only about 15 minutes from Cameron.
From Kite Lake campground.
TH 5:15, Democrat summit 6:22, Demo-Cam Saddle 7:43, Cameron 8:30, Lincoln 8:50, Bross 9:49, Kite lake 11:15.
Beat the huge crowds by leaving at 5 a.m. on the busy Labor day Sunday. Was funny watching from the top of Lincoln as the herd was heading up Democrat. Nice folks, great weather and some idiot has a nice Toyota Tundra buried to the axles on the side of Bross's hiking trail, ouch!

Colorado! Where else can an "average" hiker climb 3 Fourteeners in a day? A great day.
Made it to Lincoln about an hour and a half after leaving the summit of Democrat. Lincoln was my fave mountain of the four featuring a fun little final pitch to the summit and some intense drop-offs from the ridge. More enjoyabl and scenic than I expected!
