Jewel of the Front Range
This had been on my list for a long time. Was surprised that the Dark Canyon/Fire Road trail was so lush despite the Station Fire, and the summit area so atmospheric despite the comm towers. Haze wiped out the city views but watching alpenglow descend over Big T and the front range was sublime.
Beautiful weather today, even though everything down below was still hazy. 11 miles roundtrip with about 2900 feet elevation gain. Saw 3 people on the trail, all within a quarter mile from the parking lot.

Between Storms
Did the loop up from Deukmejian Wilderness Park in between two winter storms. Patchy snow above 4000 ft, becoming fully snow covered near the summit. Passing clouds obscured the view from the summit.

Hiked via HPS route #2, from the Angeles Crest Highway to the fireroad leading to the summit. The trail portion was gorgeous with verdant chaparral in full bloom and oak and occasional pine trees. The fire road was less scenic but still with good views. Although this trip was my first time to the summit, my guess is that this route is the most scenic and also less traveled than the others.
Good hike out of Wildwood Picnic Area, mostly switchbacks all the way to the top...upper area is overgrown and parts of trail are becoming eroded, needs some maintenance that's for sure.

Lukens Loop
Went up Dunsmore Canyon/Crescenta View and down Cook's Canyon/Rim of the Valley. Nearly 10 miles in about 4 hours. Watch out for Poodle Dog Brush on the Cook's Canyon side!
I have been up this mountain on 4-5 different routes. Haines and Stone Canyons are both excellent hikes, along with Deukmejian Park. Personal favorite is a 14 mile loop via Contemplation Trail up the west ridge and back down via Haines...

From Haines Canyon
Evening/night hike during the week. Enjoyed walking the abandoned road in the dark and chatting with friends. Nice views of the city lights at the top.

Dunsmore Canyon Ridge Hike
I have been up many different routes to this mountain. This route is fun. It was also nice going up from the back-side before the Station Fire, but I have not been up that way since the fire. The views from the summit, on a clear day, are memorable.

From Rim of the Valley/Haynes Cyn
2nd day of Christmas workout. The Crescenta View trail down was really overgrown, resulting in some unanticipated scratches.

Crescenta View Trail
Followed the Crescenta View Trail from the Dunsmore Cyn side. The trail goes up fast but is overgrown and in a few places, very loose with long drops. I made good time and the weather was sunny but pleasant. Visited Mt Wilson afterwards.
