Fog for me too
Foggiest drive up the mountain I've ever endured. It was cool and windy, and I just parked at the little trailhead leading directly to the top, due to the foul weather. Nice benches and signs at the top, though. I just wish I could have seen further than 50 feet in front of my face.

Fog and Rain
We hiked from the lodge to the highpoint in a dense fog, then continued along the Mossback Ridge, Bear Hollow, Will Apple's Road, and North Rim Trails. The fog never lifted, so we missed out on the views, and even had difficulty locating one of the trailheads. We crawled into the tents at the beginning of a thunderstorm that raged all night, and got soaked trying to pack up in the morning. HP #5

First Highpoint
A great place to start. Seven of us drove up, then hiked the last bit to the top. Cool, foggy day with lots of low, swirling clouds.

Trail-Running After A Blizzard...
A winter blizzard had struck Mount Magazine prior to my arrival, but only cold dense fog remained during my visit. I spent the afternoon trail-running (in the snow!!!) along the Signal Hill Trail, Benefield Trails, Bear Hollow Trail, Greenfield Trail, and Mossback Ridge Trail. Some park visitors looked at me like I was crazy trying to reach the Signal Hill highpoint during those winter conditions, but such are the ways of a highpointer!!!

My First Summit
Sunny day, temps in the high 80's. Hiked the 7 mile loop from the visitor center to the summit and back. Had a bear encounter near the end. Didn't see it, but could hear it huffing in the very near distance. Even though this wasn't a difficult climb, I totally enjoyed it. It was my first highpoint and it got me hooked on a sport that I didn't even know existed.

Wandered around semi-lost before I eventually found the right trail. Pleasant enough.

Short Hike
Took the .5 mile trail from the campground due to a recently sprained ankle. Nice day and got some nice views at the park, although there were no views from the summit. Highpoint #10.

Signal Hill Trail
I liked Mt. Magazine. It was a pain to get there from Paris, AR, because of all this stupid construction going on. But met some folks up at the top there, and we all talked for awhile. State Highpoint #20 for me.
