Sunrise or sunset ...?

Curious, where did you spend the night ???

The last time I took my wife to Moab, we had
to drive around (for an hour) looking for a
motel to spend the night in.

Geez, I couldn't believe how many out-of-state visitors there were ..

Re: Sunrise or sunset ...?

Sunrise. I usually start early, but not early enough to be above treeline before the sun comes up. However, since I was starting out at elevation 10,500' on this particular day it wasn't hard to do.

I stayed at Geyser Pass N38.48564 W109.23222. Moab was a zoo when I drove through. I didn't much care for it.

Moab

Seems like it is always crowded nowadays.
I used to go mountain biking there occasionally-too many folks there now for me.

Re: Moab

It's been at least 18 years since I was down there. Although the town itself was very crowded, I didn't see anyone on either of the two hikes I did. I guess they were all mountain biking :)

Re: Moab

My wife and I were there in April 2009.

I secretly wanted to escape from Moab, but my
wife insisted that we visit the "OTHER" arches.
