Nice traverse from northeast to west
Quick ascent with Robert during our rest day. Beautiful summit with some nice class III scrambling. The final approach is very nice

Nice to tag
Staying closer to the North Ridge provides one with less loose rock and the occasional cl. 3 scramble. A nice dayhike on the last day of the 2010 Sierra Challenge!

No-brainer on this one: what a grand way to finish the SC 10. Call of the Moose was long and loud from this one. WOOHOO!

what a 'dayhike'
Started at the standard Whitney TH @ 6.14, after insufficient sleep the night before (got to Alabama Hills ~23.00 the night before- ouch). Made good time, finally catching up with the front Challenge group (those guys are fast!). After getting to the basin/plateau below the peak, I decided to take the slabs climber's L of the summit- I think that this greatly reduced the energy waste associated with getting up the thing. Sean (what a machine!) & Bob beat me to the top. Summited @10.24. Ensuing traverse to Russell was sketch.

Slabby North RidgePart of a 3-day loop thru the Wallace Lake drainage in/out of the Whitney Portal. Taking full packs over the RC Col was FUN, let me just tell you.
