I visited Morrison after climbing Mt. Idaho. The east ridge was certainly more challenging and time consuming than I expected. It's a fun adventure with a bit of route finding and plenty of false summits.
Although I was looking forward to scree surfing down the saddle I was ready to call it a day. I looked over the southeast face and decided I would go straight down it to avoid retracing my route along the east ridge. The plan worked out quite well and I was back at the car in just under 2 hours.

Break on Through
Variable conditions on the west bowl led to a challenging, but rewarding day.
