"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

cloudy dayThe mountain is now a park and has some development going on in the area. The area just before the gate has a paved walkway going to a map display but it was still so new they hadn't even finished constructing it. The opposite side had a meditation area. The top has numerous wood tower overlooks.

End of the trailIt was the end of the AT then, but we could see the encroaching development as we arrived. Not a suitable terminus for a wilderness trail. Good decision to move it to Springer Mountain. We had to get there because we had delusions of doing the whole trail then. Didn't.

Beautiful DayThanks to Ed and Kate for introducing us to this historical gem! What a clear day. The Atlanta city skyline was clearly visible through binoculars.
