Mother’s Day climb
Thank God we had our truck To drive us up. Some people may not mind the one lane dirt roads with no guard rail but I do. Once at the point where you cannot drive anymore there is a 1 mile Very steep climb up to the summit. Although I work out regularly my legs were shaking. Maybe it was the altitude coming from Phoenix.Well worth it. It was amazing at the top. Even saw a halfway decent outhouse. A great way to spend Mother’s Day.

Cold...
What an awesome hike, a winter ascent of Mount Ord. We hit some remnant snow about 6000 feet. AMAZING Views. You can see Humphrey's from the summit very well. Was about 30 degrees at the summit with AT LEAST 35 MPH winds. Didn't stay long! I wolfed down a sandwich and down we went. Saw many hunters and a few drive ups. AWESOME day!

This is a very nice hike with great views but it was pretty humid. I walked from the turn-off to FR1668 and only saw one other hiker. I will definetely come back in fall when it is less humid and hot.

Pleasant Hike
Hiked from the gate to the summit and back. Was hit by some hail and light rain/wind, but this made the short hike an "alpine" experience. The road can be a bit muddy when wet.

Walk from the gate
Easy one after a long drive from Globe and Aztec Peak. Afterward, we headed for Flagstaff and a date with Kendrick Peak the next day. Sacha Bobst was my companion on 7 summits during this trip.
Parked at the junction with FR-27 and walked the remaining 2.5 miles to the top. Up here in the pines and undergrowth, I felt like I was back in New England on a typical summer day! At the summit, the couple manning the lookout tower graciously invited me up; they were quite nice, though not so much the case with their dog! Views were expansive, especially from atop the tower. On a clear day they'd be superlative, but the monsoon season has brought with it pesky haze, limiting views to 50 miles or so. I may come back here again in clearer weather and on a luckier day...

Fun outing
The road was fun to drive, we saw lots of birds, some deer, and lots of great views. Was nice and cool compared to Phoenix too.

Ord
A gate kept my laziness from propelling the car to the top. Nice views of Four Peaks and Mazatzal.

Muddy road
Drove up muddy road to locked gate, then short hike
to top.
Very green up there as a result of the monsoon storms. Slopes were speckled with orange from the agave stalks. Very impressive view from the summit and very quiet up there. Few cars and ATVs, probably less popular in mid-summer.

Incoming Storm
I drove up the dirt road to the gate while watching some dark threatening clouds begin to fill the sky. After a quick run to the top and a few minutes admiring the ever-changing sky I headed back to the car and began the drive back to the interstate and eventually the airport in Phoenix.

Beautiful fall colors
Had 100-mile views in all directions. I could make out peaks out toward Gila Bend, Tucson, the San Carlos rez and atop the Mogollon Plateau. Amazing.

Beautiful view
experienced sun, rain and snow. a very easy walk. most impressive view was a few miles before the summit in the valley to the north. I watched the weather move in with such force it truly was a thing of beauty.
Beautiful fall day. The view from the top is pretty impressive. I wish more people would walk up, at least some of the way, instead of running their vehicles up there.
