Third ascent, this time with Rachael from Watrous Gulch. Sunny, warm and calm early spring day, well packed snow on the trail. We were able to keep the snowshoes off, but did posthole a couple of times.
Took advantage of the great weather with an 11:00am start. Back home in time for dinner. Really nice and very few people for an I-70 trailhead.

windy hike
From Herman TH, not much snow at all, easy hiking, strong wind, went up Parnassus, onto Bard, then continued to Robeson, retraced back and returned (had to rehike Bard and Parnassus) over Woods and Machebeuf. Easy bushwasck back down to the trail.

Ruby Creek Mega-Traverse
Meetup.com hike with Leonard (and his dog, Maya) & Bernice. We climbed Engelmann, Robeson and Bard first, then tagged Parnassus. It was my third time on Parnassus this year. We saw no other hikers on the first three peaks, but there was another meetup group on Parnassus, some of them headed over to Bard. We went on to Woods Mountain.

Watrous Gulch
CMC hike. There were 4 of us. This was the final prep hike for our trip to Turkey and Mt Ararat next week. The original plan was to hike Mt Sherman, but we decided to stay closer to Denver. We attempted Parnassus & Woods several weeks ago, but the weather was looking iffy. This time we made it. It was my second time on Parnassus this summer. The weather was fine, mostly cloudy and a little windy above the trees, and we had some very light rain as we got back toward the trailhead.

Watrous Gulch
Meetup Trails & Ales hike. There were 11 of us, total. It was mostly cloudy all day, not too cold. It was a little windy higher up. There were quite a few hikers climbing Parnassus, and a few others on Woods. There's still a few snowfields further up Watrous Gulch. There was some logging of pine beetle-killed trees near the trailhead. Total hike time was about 4.5 hours. We went to Tommyknockers in Idaho Springs afterwards.

Not sure route
Took severe ridge line which looks horrible but is actually class 2. Freaking horrendous winds and snow devils whipping across my line. Calm summit, awesome views.

Cold
It was a great day, a lot of snow, hiked with one friend. It was about 0 F and very strong wind and without handwarmers that my friend gave to me, I would not summit. We still gave up Bard.
