pretty boring
Hiked with Sarp, Paul and Manou. Pretty boring walk-up. Had to stop and turn around a couple of feet below the summit due to oncoming thunder storm. Not sure I will climb it ever again.

From towers
Late start almost cost me the summit. I stood at the memorial for the lightning victum and pondered whether I had time to summit or not. It did make me think twice.

Grouse Gulch/NE Ridge
Ascended Grouse Gulch to the SW ridge, then dropped off the NE ridge into Maxwell Gulch, my 4th and final 14er of Nolans 2008.

Radio Towers
You get great cell phone reception at the radio towers. Great place to park in case you have car trouble or get stuck after the climb.

Solo with a full moon. Arrived on the summit just at sunrise.

Southwest Ridge
Hiked the Southwest Ridge from Grouse Canyon Trailhead. It was very cold and windy - the batteries in my camera died. I couldn't see clearly for several hours after this hike due to the wind. This was my second time on Princeton's summit. The first was via the Mount Princeton Road from the radio towers a year earlier with my sister-in-law Kristy and father-in-law Steve.

Young Life Chalet
Spent the night in the chalet that Young Life runs at the end of the 4WD road. Awesome amenity.
Drove up there just to spend the night on a cross country drive. We had to hit the road early the next morning and didn't have time to summit, but on a morning walk I came face to face with a mountain goat in the fog. Awesome experience, but I gotta get back there to actually summit it!

Normal Route
Made it to the radio towers with my rental compact and Started from there.
Perfect Weather.
Climbed this with Mike Mills in August 2000. We were staying nearby and had a few hours to kill. We drove up to 11,000 ft. and hoofed to the top and back in no time at all. The weather was perfect!
Got out to Mt Princeton kind of late, had to go back to the little town store to grab some sunblock. Went up alone, ran back down when I saw on the summit that some dark clouds were coming in. Probably the fastest 5300ft I've ever lost while on foot! Started raining once I started up the car, talk about luck.
We drove up to the radio towers and hiked from there. There were gliders all over the place and one flew so close that those of us on the summit could see the pilot sitting in the cockpit. Frightening but amazing. Great views.

Princeton
The first time I tried this mountain I followed a group of people up the wrong trail and ended up having a "learning experience." The second time I tried, found the right trail and succeeded!

Dusting of SnowThe road up was no match for my rental Kia Rio, and the climb had just enough snow to get the shoes wet. Nice views especially of Antero!
