North Ridge of Mount Toll

Paiute, Toll, Pawnee
Did a fun linkup of Paiute Peak, Mt. Toll, and Pawnee Peak. Easy going up the south slopes of Paiute, and Mt. Toll only required a few Class 3 moves on the northwest route. Really easy from there to get up to Pawnee, and then down the Pawnee Pass Trail Back to Mitchell Lake.

Incredible IPW views
Via Blue Lake then east Pawnee/Toll saddle. Solo. Good weather. Straightforward class 2 with obvious route-finding.
Mitchell Lake Trailhead was full, so I started from Brainard Lake, which added about 2 miles total to the hike. It was smoky in the morning from fires burning to the west. Sunny and breezy at lower elevations, pretty calm on the summit. Only a few hikers above Blue Lake. Tons of people down below. It's been a while since I've climbed a significant peak. This was a fairly tough one, but it was worth it.

Mount Toll by TJ
An awesome mountain that is just shy of 13,000 feet. It has a nice summit shape. You can take excellent photos from Blue Lake. It is a great day hike.

From Mitchell Trailhead/Blue Lake
Awesome peak with a somewhat tedious climb to the top. Not sure if we took the path of least resistance, but it was still an unforgettable experience.

North Ridge
Great climb, one of my favorites. Caught in August snow storm on summit but otherwise a classic alpine climb.

Pawnees to Toll
Finished up with Toll after Little Pawnee and Pawnee East Ridge. Big storms rolling in. Great day with lots of solitude for August.

Toll and Pawnee
Started near Brainard Lake, took the Niwot Cutoff to Long Lake and then up to Pawnee Pass. From there headed up to the summit of Pawnee Peak, and down to the saddle between Pawnee and Toll. The south slope of Toll looked a lot steeper than it actually turned out to be. Headed back to the Pawnee-Toll saddle and then headed down to Blue Lake.

NW face
Added Toll to the day after Audubon & Paiute via the nw face in a minor snowstorm. There's only a few class 3 moves to be had on this route and I was fine with that as the rock was slick. Continued on to Pawnee.

Favorite in the Indian Peaks
Climbed via the North Ridge(ish). This has always been on of my favorite mountains as it was the site of my first mountaineering experience (and epic failure, of course).
Climbed on rock from the Pawnee Peak/Mount Toll saddle. Took advantage of the near continuous snow on the descent to Blue Lake - good standing glissade practice!
